Integrative approach

Working as an Integrative psychotherapist and Counselling psychologist means that my practice is informed by various psychological theories and techniques as well as by the individual client’s specific needs and aspirations. My theoretical integrative framework is primarily based on the developmental, psychodynamic and humanistic approaches. In my conceptual synthesis, I draw from Attachment theory and Interpersonal Neurobiology, exploring the developmental journey from dependence through to autonomy, separation and independence, incorporating Object relations, Intersubjectivity theories and Self psychology concepts, highlighting the importance of early experience in the formation of our internal world.

I hold a DCPsych degree and an MSc degree in Psychology with Distinction (first-class honours degree), a Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and a Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling, as well as an International Master of Public Health degree. Dedicated to continuous professional development, I am regularly attending seminars, conferences and workshops, relevant to my field.

My special interests include attachment, early developmental and/or intergenerational trauma, the use of imagery and right-to-right brain communication in psychotherapy, Jungian dream analysis, issues related to power dynamics, power imbalance and the impact of relationships with past authority figures on developing own authority and sense of personal & professional Self (the topic of my doctoral research: Voices as equal as others: a narrative inquiry into the doctoral journey of psychologists and psychotherapists from authoritarian background - Middlesex University Research Repository (mdx.ac.uk).
